5-frame Nuc

5-frame Nuc (nucleus) bee hive.  Standard 9 1/8" Deep frames with Jester Bee plastic reusable shell. Each nuc is guaranteed to include a young and healthy mated (laying) queen, 5 frames of adult workers (meaning they spread over top bars of all 5 frames), 1 frame of food stores and at least 2.5 full frames of brood. 
 
Our queen stock is primarily Italian (for mild temperment) selectively bred for high and consistent performance and honey production.
 
A Note on Varroa mites:    While the control methods for varroa mites are hotly debated, their world-wide spread is NOT.  To put it plainly, if you do not have a prevention method in place, your hive(s) will  collapse.   The timing of treatment is more critical than the method itself.  For hives in Michigan, we recommend treatment no later than mid-July.  If you have questions or need help determining your treatment method, give us a call. 
 
We do NOT ship live bees.  Available for pick-up only:

30-Day Limited Waranty:   We stand behind our nucs and strive to provide the highest level of customer service.  Although we cannot be held responsible for the care of the bees once they leave our property, we do want to help them thrive by supporting our customers in their beekeeping endeavors.  If a problem arises with your nuc within 30 days of purchase, bring it back and we will exchange it at no cost.  We do reserve the right to deny exchange if we believe the claim has been falsified in any way.
